Nasi Lemak LIVERPOOL @ Batu Lanchang, Penang!!! Another BEST!

Nasi Lemak Liverpool @ Batu Lanchang, Penang

Liverpool Cafe banner aka MENU

If you're a Liverpool fans, you'll be delighted to know that Liverpool Cafe serves one of the best nasi lemak in Penang. It's nice to see that the proprietor is so passionate about his favorite team until he's willing to spend a fortune to decorate his whole cafe with Liverpool merchandises, trophies, banners and photos.

This cafe encompasses 3 shophouses, spacious, clean but warm (I don't like). It'll be great if got air-condition, hehe.

Everywhere you see is Liverpool:)

It's very easy to find this cafe. It's situated just opposite Lam Wah Ee hospital, on the ground floor of some apartments. Surely, you can't miss the crowds at night. Can you imagine the crowds on football night? If you're a Liverpool fan, it's nice to have a place to hang out. You'll never eat alone! However, there's NO discount for Liverpool fans...unfortunately:)

Outside the cafe...small stall but buzzing with activities. RM2 is for basic nasi lemak set (without chicken). Don't believe? See next photo.

Nasi lemak 'mass production' centre, hehe. No wonder my nasi lemak was served so quickly, very efficient.

Another drawback is the alienation of customers who're fans of Manchester United or Chelsea or Arsenal or etc. My friend, N, who's a loyal, die hard MU supporter, swore that he won't be caught eating at this Liverpool 'den' no matter how good the food taste also. Probably, this view is shared by many others too!

Okay, okay, back to the food review now. How was the nasi lemak? Continue reading...

My nasi lemak with a lot of sambal!!! However, I always like my sambal nicely tucked at the side instead of spread all over my rice.

My nasi lemak with everything 'extra'. Rice was fragrant and doubled too, quarter fried chicken, half an egg, anchovies/ ikan bilis, groundnuts and cucumber

Even closer view! But no matter how close you're viewing it, you still must taste it yourself the excellent taste of the spicy-spiced sambal!

Quarter fried chicken, was nicely fried, crispy on the outside and soft and juicy still inside. Not roughened at all! I like!

Close up photo of the egg and anchovies. Nice, crispy and crunchy still!

Tasty Or Not?
Rating 8/10. Allows adding extra sambal at no extra charge, I like! Try bringing your friends from other team to try out this place...if you can:) Definitely a must try in Penang!

  2. Have you ever tried Annie Nasi Lemak at 78 Cafe , Jalan Sri Bahari @ Penang Road ? The price is almost half cheaper yet nice. A lot of compliment all around Malaysia. Don't worry, although it's chinese hawker stall but it is HALAL, pork-free. By the way, she is moving over to the coffee shop by the side, Kafe Kheng Pin on the 23rd Sept 2012.

  3. Go to Jie Hoe cafe @ Cantoment Road, Pulau Tikus...... the most autentic Nonya Nasi Lemak....best I have tasted in Penang. Biz start at 8 am - about 11 am. Remind me of 60s, where you can buy the same type of nasi lemak from the Indian kueh man who carried huge basket of kueh on a pole. Tried Liverpool, na.....no big deal!!!!!!

  6. Halal doesnt mean there is no pork but how the food is prepared by muslim or not.. if the cook is not muslim but the shop dont hv pork also considered not halal.. halal means the item, how is it prepared, who is the cook, is it hygeniec and well prepared the muslim way.. no pork or no lard doesnt mean that the shop is halal..
