Whenever my friend's mom, who's staying in Penang mainland, come to Penang island for a visit or just jalan-jalan, she'll buy back 1-2 weeks of bread supply from Continental Bakery. Why would she do that?

Corner shop along Nagor Road, Georgetown, Penang.

Asked where to get the best and healthiest buns and you'll get a definitel reply, Continenal Bakery @ Jalan Nagor, Georgetown, Penang. This bakery had been in business for a very long time and their 'healthy' bread can rival even Adventist Bakery (famous for their '7-grains sprouted bread' or '3-seeds sprouted bread')!
|
Famous address, seek and you shall find the best and healthiest breads here. |
Upon entering Continental Bakery, you'll be overwhelmed (in a good way) with the freshness of buns paraded all over the stalls (see below). Try to come early or you'll end up like me with limited choices.
|
Isn't it nice? Golden brown, traditionally prepared...unlike most of the factory-produced breads nowadays |
BREAD SELECTIONS (limited due to...coming late, hehe)
|
Ring Rye (RM6.70) |
|
High fiber Wholewheat Loaf (RM4.30) |
|
Wholewheat Golden Apricot (RM7.70) |
What I bought for myself?
|
German Longan and Wolfberry (RM4.20). With such an exotic name, how can I resist? Hehe |
|
Packed with longan and err...wolfberry (don't really know what is it, hehe). Every bites of the bun was an amazing experience. |
|
View from inside. Simply delicious |

Come early to avoid disappointment! |

Tasty Or Not?
Rating: 8/10. You can eat it even for your breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's that good!
Yes but typically, all the bread in your pics is wrapped in plastic! Anyone who knows good bread will tell you by putting it in a plastic bag it makes the outside of the bread soft...yuk!
ReplyDeleteI really hope they would set up a branch in KL,
ReplyDeleteand let KL ppl know what is good bread.
