What can you get for below RM3 in Penang? Hm, actually, there are a lot of foods that cost less than RM3 in Penang (that's why Penang is well known around the world for its 'street food', just like Taiwan, but better, hehe!). Not really a good question, huh. Anyway, for those who haven't been to Penang, please come and visit Penang, whatever your country of origins or political inclinations (for Malaysians) might be. Mee Sotong Hameed & Coconut Shake @ Padang Kota Lama, Penang: Best Combo Lunch For Less Than RM10 In Penang!
Another Friday came by. I love the long lunch hours on Friday. It allows me to eat at places which are far from my working place. Jo suggested a new place to eat at Padang Kota Lama (Fort Cornwallis), Georgetown, Penang. She said the mee goreng aka mee sotong there is excellent and another 'must try' is the coconut shake (coconut drink + coconut 'meat' + ice cream).
Destination: Taman Kota Lama (Fort Cornwallis). Ample parking space along the road just fronting the beach. |
Farewell Lunch @ Restoran Jade Palace, Penang: Food Was...Hmm, Okay
Firstly, the farewell lunch was not for me. It was for my mysterious and interesting bos, V, who planned to ?transfer back to Kuala Lumpur/ ?start own business/ ?going to private practice/ ?just taking some time off for himself/ ?getting married/ ?getting treatment. Mysterious, right? My colleagues and I were still unsure where he went till now. Hope he's okay. We held the farewell lunch for him a few weeks before he leaves because we're unsure when he'd leave us, hehe.

Coconut Jelly @ Jalan Dato Kramat, Penang: Best Cooling Drink...Or Cooling Food?
OMG, the weather is super crazy nowadays! Scorching hot in the afternoon when it should ideally be raining and torrential rain in the evening when it shouldn’t be. Anyway, I have no problem with the rain. It’s just the hot weather that I beh tahan. Unfortunately, unlike those people working in office, I don’t have the luxury of air condition, aii.
Okay, okay...enough of me whining about the weather. I couldn’t control it also.
Instead, let me introduce to you a special food to cool down your body when you're under the blistering heat in Malaysia..." COCONUT JELLY "
Coconut jelly, all wrapped up. The top was already pre-opened. |

Yes, I'm back!
So sorry for my absence from the blogging scene lately. I couldn't find time to blog last few weeks. I'd been very busy (and still busy) with some assignments and I just managed to finish some of it yesterday. Nevertheless, I still indulged on my favorite foods in Penang and Ipoh and Samsung Galaxy S had been busy snapping photos of great foods non-stop.
