Tow Kee Hakka Mee, Seremban: Best Hakka Mee In Town...A Must Try In Seremban!

I'd seen people in KL/ PJ driving for an hour or so to reach their makan place in and around KL/ PJ (traffic jam!!). I'd recommend you to just driving down to Seremban, which takes only 45 minutes, to try some great food here instead! You won't regret it for sure:)

Hakka mee, plus loh shu fen (RM4 big, RM3.70 medium, RM3.30 small)
Let's just get straight to the point here. The best Hakka mee is undoubtedly Tow Kee Hakka Mee in Seremban. I'd been eating here for so many years already and the taste remained authentic, memorable and amazingly delicious.

Wedding Chapter, closed: Thank you, thank you!!!:)

It'd been very hectic for the past few months. I was busy preparing for my wedding. For someone who vowed not to follow the complicated traditional wedding and insist on a 'simple' wedding, I didn't manage to do that:)

Community Chest & You. Donations of groceries will go to shelter home, Rumah Agethian Shelter.
Somehow, I ended up doing most (if not all) that a traditional wedding should be. I'm proud to say that I went through almost all the 'compulsary' wedding thingy like parents-parents discussion, presentation of dowry and presents, tea ceremony, wedding receptions and of course, honeymoon too! I'm glad I did:)

Final Day Breakfast @ Feast Village, Pangkor Laut Resort: Best Buffet Breakfast???

Okay, it was time to go back now. It's the third and last day in Pangkor Laut Resort. They didn't allow me to extend my check out time, so I booked the 12pm motorboat to go back to Lumut.

Feast Village @ Pangkor Laut Resort.
We arrived a little early to Feast Village as compared to yesterday and promptly chose a table in the middle of the restaurant, plus under the fan:)

View from my seat in the middle of the restaurant
Then, we start venturing to every food stations in Feast Village. Let me show you a few here:)

Porridge, no improvement at all. I hope with this blog entry, they'll do something with this food.
Yesterday, it was lousy dim sum. Today, it was lousy chee cheong fun. I think they should just close down this food section because they're giving Chinese food a bad name.

Dinner @ Uncle Lim's Kitchen: Finally, Pangkor Laut Resort: Best Chinese Cuisine?

After the disappointing lunch at Chapman's bar @ Emerald Bay, Pangkor Laut Resort, J and I continued with out sight seeing and photo taking session. I love the calmness here at Pangkor Laut Resort. Everything seemed to be passing so slowly.

Dinner @ Uncle Lim's Kitchen
It makes you ponder about life and what I''m trying to achieve. But the most important is of course to spend quality time with my love one. J and I had been going through so much for the past few months planning for the whole marriage thingy. There were so much preparations and I'm glad all went on smoothly and as planned. Save to say that we even had a few surprises, one of being able to even eked out a decent surplus for our wedding, thanks to generosity of all who attended our wedding and contributed selflessly to us.
Another view of the restaurant. The rock here...what does it mean? I was going with the idea that this rock represent Pangkor Laut Resort but J was saying that these rocks were part of the rock that the restaurant was built on top of. Hm..seemed like she's right:). I'm not sure why this restaurant and most other restaurants in Pangkor Laut Resort were also so dark, just like having dinner in a bat cave!:)

Lunch @ Chapman's Bar, Emerald Bay, Pangkor Laut Resort: Lunch By The Beach:)

So, after a heavy breakfast, both J and I went expending all the calories gained. We walked around Pangkor Laut Resort and took lots and lots of photos (bringing the tripod was the best decision we made!). To travel to the other side of the island, we chose to go by 4WD because the roads were just too steep and narrow.
Lunch @ Chapman's bar, by the seaside:)
The ceiling was high and the restaurant was airy with sea breeze occasionally felt caressing the face:)
We just waited less than 5 minutes at the waiting point and then a 4WD came to pick us up and drove us to the other side of the island, the Emerald Bay, which took less than 3 minutes. We actually arrived here yesterday evening to see the sunset but wasn't able to see it because the view was blocked by trees.

Breakfast @ Feast Village, Pangkor Laut Resort: Diverse Varieties Of Wholesome Breakfast!

Alright, I chose to put the past/ yesterday behind me. Yesterday meals was rather bad and didn't even meet my bare minimum expectation. Anyhow, I head on to breakfast again on day two, after my morning bath tub dips, of course:)

Arrived at the same venue as yesterday's dinner @ Feast Village, Pangkor Laut Resort for breakfast, buffet style. Here are some foods I'd tried on my first buffet breakfast, just a short and brief write-ups. Enjoy!

Hash brown and sausage with cheese fillings. Hash brown was crispy and not too oily while the sausage was well-cooked with the cheese melted within. Nice.
This porridge was totally out, akin mixing rice with water and some small shredded pieces of crab meats. Tasteless.

Dinner @ Feast Village, Pangkor Laut Resort: Hoping For Great Dinner But Got Discriminated And Disappointed Instead!

After the walkabout around Pangkor Laut Resort, we went back for another dip at our bath tub (J and I would be dipping at out bath tub for another 6-7 times throughout our 3D2N stay here, hehe). After that, we put on our best attire to have our dinner at Feast Village @ Pangkor Laut Resort.

Feast Village @ Pangkor Laut Resort
Upon arrival to the Feast Village, we were directed to our table, which was facing the beach and at the side of the restaurant. J was okay with if but I can't stand eating in the near total darkness (I couldn't take nice photos of my foods also, right?). So, I requested to change table to a brighter one and also if possible, under the fan (there was one unoccupied table fitting my descriptions). I was ignored by the waiter/ waitress...so I changed table myself (5-star, konon! please note, PLR, if you're reading this!)

One page menu only for Chinese while the foreign tourists getting the whole menu. Gosh, I felt so discriminated! FYI, I ended ordering their 'Nasi Hidangan Satu & Dua', both RM85++ and I never get to see their full menu, sigh!

Pangkor Laut Resort: Photos From All Over Pangkor Laut Resort, Just A Few (This Is A Food Blog, Okay, Hehe)

After lunch at Royal Bay Beach Club, both J and I went back to our room, unpacked and took a dip at the bath tub, plus relaxing salts and body wash (producing so much bubbles/ foam), hehe. It was so comfortable and relaxing. We were fully energized back in no time:).

Walking around Pangkor Laut Resort:)

My Room/ Villa @ Pangkor Laut Resort: Luxury Redefined!

After having lunch at Royal Bay Beach Resort @ Pangkor Laut Resort, we were told that our room was ready (finally!). I was just a short walking distance and our room was on the 1st floor, great!

My room is not here. Seen here is the Pavarotti suite, nice huh!:)

The villa that we're staying is on the 1st floor, with a good view of the beach, the infinity pool and also the Royal Bay Beach club.

Entering the room...

This is what you'll see when the door to my room is open, lovely:)

Lunch @ Royal Bay Beach Club, Pangkor Laut Resort: High Expectation?

There are two restaurants open for lunch at Pangkor Laut Resort and we can choose either to eat at Royal Bay Beach Club or at Chapman's Bar. Since Royal Bay Beach Club is nearer to our villa, we chose to have our lunch here and save Chapman's Bar for lunch the next day.

Come join me for lunch:)

Pangkor Laut Resort: Arrivals

I'd booked a 3D2N stay at Pangkor Laut Resort for my honeymoon, yay! If you're Malaysian, do call them up personally and asked for holiday package for Malaysian, which includes both accommodation and meals throughout your stay here, at an attractive price.

Arrival at Pangkor Laut Resort within 30 minutes from Lumut, thanks to their high speed motorboat. The sky looked gloomy, right? Luckily, this photo was taken on the day we were heading back home, luckily:) The weather during our visit to Pangkor Laut Resort: nice and sunny during the day and raining during the night, so it was great!:)

Finally, the long-awaited day arrived and both J and I drove about 80km away from Ipoh town to Lumut. Upon arriving there, you can actually check-in at Pangkor Laut Resort's office at the mainland. All your bags/ luggage can be placed in their office and will be delivered straight to your room (no more hassle carrying luggage around).

O'Briens Irish Sandwich Cafe @ 1 Utama: Bread Healthier Than Rice? Myth Or Facts???

How many of you will eat bread for lunch or dinner? Not many, huh. Actually, I do have a friend who eats breads every single day for lunch. He claimed that rice wasn't a healthy option. Hence, I went to do some checking regarding their nutritional values, focusing on both calories and more importantly, fiber content.

Village Park Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng @ Damansara Uptown: Best-est & Most Excellent Nasi Lemak AYAM GORENG

Let me introduce today the most 'excellent' nasi lemak I'd eaten so far and it's no other than Village Park Nasi Lemak @ Damansara Uptown, yay!

Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng (RM9)
To be specific, it's their nasi lemak ayam goreng that's 'excellent'. And to be even more specific, their ayam goreng/ fried chicken is most 'excellent'. Unfortunately, the same can't be said to the other dishes and foods there...mediocre taste only.

Restoran Vishal Food & Catering's Banana Leaf Rice: 'Mess' Dining For My Banana Leaf Rice:)

I missed my Larut Lane banana leaf rice (Read: My Ultimate Food Discovery In Penang, My Favorite!: Famous Banana Leaf Rice @ Lumut Lane, Georgetown Penang) in Penang a lot!! I was eating there at least once a week (usually more), before I was transferred to Petaling Jaya. So far, I'd been to a few banana leaf rice stalls/ restaurants here in PJ and KL...some were nice, some wasn't.

Chao Su Fen (Tapioca Noodle) @ Old Klang Road, KL: One Of The Kind, Plus Will Bring Back Memories For Your Grandparents Too:)

It's always great to have local people sharing great local foods with me.

When I was in Penang, N was my food guide (and partner-in-food too, hehe) to all great foods in Penang. Now that I'm based in PJ/ KL, the table changed completely for me because, I'm the newbie here and I have to start all over again from the bottom. Luckily, I'm back into contact with my good-est university friend, Jb who's generous enough to impart to me his vast knowledge on great local foods here, yay!

Chao Su Fen (Tapioca Noodle) @ Old Klang Road, KL (RM7)
One of the food that Jb recommended to me will be reviewed here today and I took great length and great trouble to find this food. To be honest, I failed looking for this elusive food stall twice and it was third time lucky that I managed to find this food stall, tucked in between 2 food stalls and behind an old white wooden door.

Ninja Joe @ The Gardens, Midvalley, KL: Pork Burgers...Good? Great?

I was thrilled when I found that that there's a restaurant in The Gardens, Midvalley, KL selling PORK burgers! I'd eaten 'chu yuk si'/ pork floss burger, 'bak kua'/ dried bacon burger and bacon sandwich before and I love all of them. So, you can say that I have very high expectation before eating at Ninja Joe @ The Gardens, Midvalley, KL.

Ninja Joe @ The Gardens, Midvalley, KL. I love the catchphrase ' If you can't handle it, you're chicken':)
I went there with J, partly to make sure that my over-enthusiasm over the pork burger won't cloud my judgments. I don't want this food review to be biased and she'll make a good counterbalance because..J don't like foods at all, hehe. Hand in hand, we walked into Ninja Joe...bells ringing, birds singing (nope, that was all in my head, hehe).

Village Roast Duck @ Bangsar Village, KL: Tasteless, Kiamsap, Overpriced!

I went to Bangsar a few days ago to take another sneak peek at what our affluence Bangsar-ians eat. They never cease to amaze me...having 3 Starbucks outlets in Bangsar Village alone?! I guessed for Bangsar-ians, Starbucks is their McDonald:)

I did ate at Bangsar a few times (see below)

El Toro Butchery & Grill @ Subang Avenue: Excellent Steak...Carnivorous Appetite, Satisfied!

Once awhile, I'll reward myself (for no reasons, hehe) with nice dinner. I could be eating in a nice restaurant, eating Western foods, buffets (hm, unlikely, I don't really like stuffing myself) or etc, etc.
