Singberry @ Ipoh Garden South, Ipoh: Everything Strawberry...Freshest!

Fancy eating strawberries for your breakfast...or dessert? If you happened to be in and around Ipoh, maybe you'll want to visit the next place that I'll be introducing to you.

Everything strawberries @ Singberry, Ipoh Garden South, Ipoh
Their 'jiu pai' dish; Cocktail Strawberry (L) RM13.90, consist of strawberries, kiwis and sweet and sour plum. Everyone seemed to be ordering this dish. It's also available in small size, RM8.90 but the proprietress kept on telling me that the small size is too small (well, it won't actually hurt their profit margin by putting an extra 2 or 3 strawberries if she wanted to) for two people and suggested us to order the large size. Anyway. just to maintain good rapport, I followed her recommendation. She also recommended to us to mix the cocktail strawberry with kiwi fruits. Again, I followed her recommendation. How was it? You can also order foods from neighboring shops which sell varieties of noodles. They'll send your order to Singberry and you can enjoy the foods at Singberry. This level of co-operation is unheard of and is commendable. It's so much more comfortable eating at Singberry.
According to the proprietress, all their strawberries are freshly picked and send down straight from their farm at Cameron Highland. FYI, you can't get anything (strawberries, vegetables, corn, etc.) fresh-er than Cameron Highland!

Singberry
Decor 1: Clean, neat and large posters of strawberry everywhere:)
Decor 2: Front counter, where you can see the preparations of your foods and drinks.
Decor 3: Just to keep the chicken pies and curry puffs warm. See the 'A'? Cleanliness!
Their cafe, SINGBERRY, is located at Ipoh Garden South, occupying the ground floor. I went there with J yesterday and so I want to blog it while it's still 'fresh', hehe.

FOODS AND DRINKS!!!
Chicken pie (RM2.50)
Closer photo shot at the chicken pie. How was it? The size was slightly bigger than 'Seremban siew pau'. The crust was thin, freshly made and crunchy but didn't have the aromatic buttery taste. It's just...crust. Inside the chicken pie lies the chicken? I couldn't really appreciate any chicken meat in it because the fillings were bashed, err..I meant mashed up beyond recognition and the taste were insignificant.
Drinks arrived next. I ordered iced strawberry cappuccino (RM7.90) while J ordered Anti-Aging Strawberry + Apple + Orange + Carrot + Passion Fruit (RM8.90). My iced strawberry cappuccino was lousy. The coffee was diluted, borderline tasteless, tasted 'cheap' and the bits and pieces of strawberries at the bottom are irrelevant to the drink. My words maybe too harsh but do not let one substandard drink/food tarnish the good name of your establishment!
J ordered Anti-Aging Strawberry + Apple + Orange + Carrot + Passion Fruit (RM8.90). How was it? Good! Concentrated, sourish-ly appealing, plus excitement to the taste buds. Can you see the fruit juice in the straw above? It's so concentrated that it stayed in the straw after drinking it, hehe.
Another view of my drinks and the front counter.
Another photo taken upon the arrival of all the foods and drink. Total damge, RM33, ouch!
Alright, do go through all the nice photos that I'd taken yesterday. Enjoy!

Zooming in on the food preparations. If you notice it next time...the strawberries are washed and rinsed many times.
My Cocktail Strawberry, plus kiwi fruits. As you can see here for yourself, the kiwi fruits seemed outnumbering the strawberry. No wonder the proprietress was telling us that the kiwi fruit comes at no extra charges...because the amount of strawberries were reduced at the same proportions! Felt cheated but...the kiwi fruit did accentuate the cocktail strawberry, so I don't feel that bad la. Overall, the sweet and sour plus, together with the strawberry and kiwis tasted delectable and exciting (imaging your saliva forcing itself out everytime you're about to put those in your mouth, hehe). FYI, J loved the combinations!
Another closer photo shot at my small plate; strawberry, kiwi and sweet and sour plum. Eat altogether for greatest pleasure, hehe.
Strawberry sauce below. J was hoping that there's an extra plate/ bowl of the strawberry sauce because the sauce goes well with the cocktail strawberry. Also, I think that the sauce should be made more concentrated because it doesn't stick to the fruits and just fell back into the bowl most of the time, hehe.

Tasty Or Not?
Rating 7/10. Singberry serves some of the freshest strawberries (anymore fresher and you'll need to picked the strawberry yourself at Cameron Highland, hehe) in multitudes ways of preparations; drinks, sandwiches, ice-cream, etc. You can also buy strawberries here also according to the weight and market price. Their wide selection of drinks are worth trying (just skip the coffee).
