Gouda Stroopwafels Original: Small, Thin And Delicious Waffles:)

Okay, this is certainly not Malaysian food. So why is it featured here? Well, I just want to remember it. My boss bought it back for my colleagues and I upon coming back from overseas conference, sweet! Another boss of mine also bought chocolates for us but I forgotten to take photos of it. Here, I want to record my 'thank you' in my blog posting:)

Gouda Stroopwafels Original
I love it and I hope someday I can find it in Malaysia. I also hope all bosses who read this will buy something for their own employees. It really brighten up their days:)

Wendy's Mornin' Breakfast Melt Panini with Tuna...Worthy Challenger Of KFC & McDonald's Breakfast?

I was a little adventurous and unfaithful a few days ago. I cheated...my loyalty to KFC's and McD's breakies were...tested. Why?

Wendy's Mornin' Melt Panini with Tuna (RM6.35)

Armed with a coupon that I bought from Groupon (promotion: 2 for the price of 1), I strayed into Wendy's to try out their breakfast, Mornin' Melt Panini with Tuna (normal price RM 6.35/each). What's panini? It's just an Italian version of a toasted bread/ sandwich.

Swedish Meatballs @ Ikea Food Court: Beefy-licious!:)

This is one of the most unexpected place I'd been to find good food. Thanks to my sister, who's working in Mutiara Damansara, she brought me to one of the nicest food around here...and it didn't cost a bomb.

She brought me to eat dinner at a food court (what?!) inside Ikea, the heaven for furniture and home furnishing products, yay!:) At first, I was a bit hesitated because...the food is from a food court(!). However, as soon as I arrived there, my perception changed a bit when I saw the whole area filled with people...much more people than the ones shopping for new furnitures/ home furnishing products. Impressive, huh!

My Swedish meatball (RM5.30/ plate of 5 meatballs), plus fries, secret brown sauce and raspberry sauce.

The Smooth-est And Tender-est 'Ngau Yuk Hor'/ Beef Koay Teow In KL + My Favourite Too! @ Soo Kee Restaurant, Medan Imbi, KL

Memories flooding back when I ate here yesterday. This restaurant serves one of the best 'ngau yuk hor'/ beef koay teow that I'd ever tasted before. It had been years since I last ate here...still, it tasted just as great today!

Ngau yuk hor/ beef koay teow (RM10) @ Soo Kee Restaurant, Medan Imbi, KL

I can still remember my parents brought my sister and I to KL to 'jalan-jalan' when we were young. And before we leave KL at night, we would stop by at Soo Kee Restaurant for dinner. Ordering their 'ngau yuk hor'/ beef koay teow is a must.

Notable Mentions: Soto And Nasi Goreng Ayam @ Ujang Soto, Medan Selera Seksyen 11, Shah Alam

I'd go the distance if the food is great...or even if it's good only.

The next eating place that I want to introduce here might not be known to many and many might not even want to go there to eat because it's just a small stall.

Ujang Soto @ Medan Selera Seksyen 11, Shah Alam.

And that's why 'Tasty Or Not?' comes into the picture...to help small food stalls by featuring them and their foods here. However, I must warn that they're certainly going to be exposed to the same acerbic but truthful comments about their foods here.

Damansara Hokkien Mee @ Damansara Utama: Searching For The Best Hokkien Mee...'Where Art Thou?'

I always find it hard to food review Hokkien mee because I 'absolutely love' Hokkien mee. I don't think anyone can cook a Hokkien mee that I don't like and I don't think I can really talk bad about Hokkien mee, no matter how critical I am, hahaha. (Yes, I'm Hokkien, hehe)

Damansara Hokkien Mee @ Damansara Utama (took this photo instead of the normal restaurant signboard, hehe)
The next Hokkien mee stall that I'll be introducing here is no exception. The only different is whether they serve good or GREAT Hokkien mee.

Bijoux Cupcakes @ KLCC: I Never Like Cupcakes, But It's Bijoux Cupcake Wor...

I want to declare upfront my dislike of cupcakes...but I'll try to be impartial here.

Bijoux Food Company @ KLCC

Why do I 'not-like' cupcakes? People either make a proper cake or DON'T. Cupcakes are 'in between' these two, akin 'neither here nor there'. In fact, I don't even believe cupcakes are cake! Call it anything but a 'cake', it's deceiving! I never knew I can be so emotional about cup(others name)! Hahaha:)

You might be wondering how did I ended up with Bijoux cupcakes from KLCC then, right? So, how I got hold of these cupcakes?

Kushi Q @ Tropicana City Mall, PJ: Chicken Skewers a.k.a Sate, Avoid?

I went to Kushi Q @ Tropicana City Mall, PJ a few days ago to use one of my coupon that I'd purchased online. It seemed like a great offer (see below):

50% Deal for Succulent Fusion Skewers (5 skewers) + 1 Complimentary Drink + Additional 15% off any Katsudon Set Purchase @ Kushi Q (Tropicana City Mall) for only RM5 instead of RM10

How was it?

Kushi Q @ Tropicana City Mall, PJ. Empty stall, red flag?
Foreign workers who don't understand you, yet confrontational plus very poor service...another red flag? Didn't happen to me but saw it happened to another customer. I don't dare to make a fuss after that, haha.

Singberry @ Ipoh Garden South, Ipoh: Everything Strawberry...Freshest!

Fancy eating strawberries for your breakfast...or dessert? If you happened to be in and around Ipoh, maybe you'll want to visit the next place that I'll be introducing to you.

Everything strawberries @ Singberry, Ipoh Garden South, Ipoh
Their 'jiu pai' dish; Cocktail Strawberry (L) RM13.90, consist of strawberries, kiwis and sweet and sour plum. Everyone seemed to be ordering this dish. It's also available in small size, RM8.90 but the proprietress kept on telling me that the small size is too small (well, it won't actually hurt their profit margin by putting an extra 2 or 3 strawberries if she wanted to) for two people and suggested us to order the large size. Anyway. just to maintain good rapport, I followed her recommendation. She also recommended to us to mix the cocktail strawberry with kiwi fruits. Again, I followed her recommendation. How was it? MUST Mention: Yee Fatt Curry Mee @ Ipoh: Best Dry Curry Noodle...My Second Best, Second Favorite Curry Mee!:)

Okay, this is the last of the three breakfast meals that I had for yesterday (yea, 3 meals for breakfast, hehe). You can read the other two entries here:

Dry curry mee and normal curry mee @ Yee Fatt, Ipoh

Breakfast 1: Notable Mention: Bidor's Soon Kee Chee Cheong Fun...Warming Up My Tummy Just Right!:)
Breakfast 2: Another Notable Mention: Kampar Char Koay Teow...Good But Not Great

Another Notable Mention: Kampar Char Koay Teow...Good But Not Great

Okay, this posting is the continuation of my breakfast trail yesterday morning. After I had my 'chee cheong fun'/ rice noodles at Bidor, I drove all the way until I reached Kampar.

Kampar char koay teow @ Medan Selera Kampar. The boss and his wife in action. The boss sitting down comfortably on a stool while frying koay teow.

Notable Mention: Bidor's Soon Kee Chee Cheong Fun...Warming Up My Tummy Just Right!:)

I drove back to Ipoh early this morning (from Petaling Jaya). I started my journey at 7am. As usual, whenever I drive back to Ipoh, I'll stop by many places along the way to eat/ try out their local foods. Today was no different.

Soon Kee's 'chee cheong fun'/ rice noodles @ Bidor.
My plan for today's breakfast...to eat 'lor mai kai'/ glutinous chicken rice at Sungkai, 'chee cheong fun'/ rice noodle at Bidor, 'char koay teow'/ fried kueh teow at Kampar and dry curry mee at Ipoh. Some of these foods were famous while others were...'undiscovered' yet, hehe. Hence, I think I ought to give those foods some exposure here.

Banana Leaf Rice @ Sri Nirwana Maju, Bangsar, KL: Finally Found The Better/ ?Best Banana Leaf Rice In KL:)

When my friend suggested to me to try out a famous banana leaf outlet in Bangsar, I already knew it'll be expensive. However, with months went by without being able to find any decent banana leaf rice in KL/ PJ, I was depraved, I was desperate.

Restoran Sri Nirwana Maju @ Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru, KL

Teochew Stewed Duck @ Restaurant Kam Heong, PJ: Everything Stewed, Everything Healthy, Everything Nice...Recommended!

I went to Restaurant Kam Heong with J for our dinner the other day. J recommended this place, famous for their duck meat. I was a little hesitated in the beginning to eat duck meat so soon again after my recent duck rice at Seapark, PJ (Read: Best Duck Rice In KL And PJ Is In S.E.A Park, PJ? Err...Nope! Good But Not Great).

Dinner @ Restaurant Kam Heong, PJ...for just below RM20:)

Curry Mee @ Honda Showroom, Jalan Sungai Pinang, Penang: The Best Curry Mee In Penang? Yup!:)

My heart skips a beat...my heart skip a beat, when I was think about Penang breakfast just now, hehe:)

Curry Mee (RM3.50 only) @ Jalan Sungai Pinang (just in front of Honda Showroom), Penang
You just can't compare it with breakfast in KL or PJ, at least not at the moment (hopefully I'll uncover some nice breakfast spots here soon). To compare my breakfast this morning at Antipodean Cafe (Read: Breakfast @ Antipodean Cafe, Bangsar, KL: Good At Overpricing Foods, Best For Nothing!) with Penang breakfast will be too mean, especially after my not-so-nice review about it this morning.
