Restoran Fei Kay Bah Kut Teh @ Klang: Best Kept Secret...Klang's Best Bah Kut Teh:)

Klang most famous, Bah Kut Teh, the 'dry' version with a bowl of BKT soup too. So you're actually getting the best of both!

It's actually not a secret-la, everyone knew about Klang BKT, it's famous throughout Malaysia. However, the secret here lies at this BKT restaurant that I'll be introducing. It's not as famous as other big-wig Klang BKT restaurants but nevertheless, it tasted great!

Restoran Pontian Wanton Noodle @ SS2, PJ: Most Tasteless Noodle Ever?

I had a not so good (bad!) dinner tonight at Restoran Pontian @ SS2, PJ. While I was driving around SS2 to look for nice foods to eat tonight, I came across this restaurant. Okay, I'm a sucker when it comes to promotion, and they were having one this month...the RM3.90 promotion for their Pontian Wanton Noodle.

Restoran Pontian @ SS2, Petaling Jaya.
Anyway, just to keep my comments and criticisms short and not to waste anymore time on it, just see the photos below with their accompanying captions.

Chocolat World - A Passion For Chocolate: Intensely Chocolate! Best Chocolate Cake This Year?

Early this morning, my good friend, Ina, who's of mix Indian-Chinese parentage but blessed with exotic Malay appearance received a Hari Raya Aidilfitri gift in the form of a big box of Chocolat World's moist chocolate cake.

Moist Chocolate Cake from Chocolat World; rich, most and studded with Belgian chocolate chips (1kg)
I was jealous of course. I was mistaken before for being a Malay guy, you know...when I was wearing my baju Melayu or sarong or etc, hehe. Wrong timing, I guessed. Probably must start wearing those more frequently nowadays, hehe. All I got today was just a box of date (kurma), which I gave it away to the first Malay colleague that I saw (don't they know that the universal gift is...chocolate, or diamonds;)

Dinner @ PJ Hilton: So-So Food For A 5-Star Hotel, Aii..

What a dispointment! I should have anticipate it and come out earlier!

What am I talking about? Well, I went to PJ Hilton for a talk yesterday evening. I was really hoping for a nice dinner after the talk, like the one I had in Shangri-La (Read: Dinner @ Shangri-La, Kuala Lumpur: A Night To Remember...About The Food). Also, I was really hoping it's not going to be buffet dinner, fingers crossed!

I Heart Yogurt's Frozen Yogurt VS. McDonald Ice-Creams: And The Best Dessert Goes To?

Nowadays, there are a lot of frozen yogurt stalls/ kiosks/ cafe sprouting out such as I Heart Yogurt, Tutti Fruti, Fruuze and etc. It makes me wonder:

Is it tastier/ healthier/ cheaper than non-frozen yogurt?
Is it tastier/ healthier/ cheaper than ice-cream?

Well, I set out to unravel all these unsolved questions for all of you:)

Bumbung Nasi Lemak @ S.E.A Park, PJ: Tasty And Cheap Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng:)

UPDATED BELOW:)

After I wrote about the famous duck rice at S.E.A Park, PJ (Read: Best Duck Rice In KL And PJ Is In S.E.A Park, PJ? Err...Nope! Good But Not Great), I received a message in my Facebook account. It reads,
"hey i read ur blog, and i think its a great idea and help when it comes for me and my gf in choosing where to eat!! i can tell we have similar taste as i too didnt find anything great in that duck shop sunrise in sea park... how ever you must try and you must blog about this nasi lemak stall that i love and i ve been eating ever since it opened. its called nasi lemak maybank, some call it nasi lemak paramount or bumbung nasi lemak, either one its the same. its located very near the sunrise duck in sea park.. if ur familiar with that place you will now there s a maybank in that are.. this nasi lemak is next to maybank. but its only open from 6.30pm till 3 am latest. you have to try it! looking forward in reading your honest opinion about it!" from Sidaarth, via Facebook
Thanks a lot bro, for your comments and recommendation. I appreciate it a lot. I 'extremely' love to eat nasi lemak!!!

Bumbung PJ @ S.E.A Park, PJ. Tables and chairs were spread along the back alley and also in front of Maybank. The area was clean, odorless and rat-less, hehe. The road gradient wasn't flat (about 10-15 degrees) but it wasn't as much as shown in this photo also, hehe. I chose my table at the higher end of the back alley.

Mokuren Japanese Cuisine @ Ipoh: Amazing And Best Japanese Food, Discovered!

Today is my gf, Jenny's birthday. She's a year older today (of course I'm not telling her age, hehe).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JENNY!!!

Unfortunately, I couldn't celebrate with her today (sigh!) because I need to work (I blame this on Lee Chong Wei for losing to Lin Dan yesterday and thus, no public holiday for Malaysia today, hehe). Anyway, we did celebrated her birthday last Saturday by having a lovely dinner at Mokuren Japanese Cuisine restaurant in Ipoh. FYI, she loves Japanese food a lot, especially fresh salmon!

Mokuren Japanese Cuisine @ Ipoh. If you want know why it had been under radar by most of us, it's probably got to do with their signboard. Insignificant, poorly lit, small fonts and badly contrast from the wall color at the background. If they just do 'something' with their signboard, I guarantee business will be BOOMING! Trust me, please.

Restoran Fu Kua @ Taman Megah, PJ: Something Plain, Something Nice And Something Special:)

Not many people like to eat bitter gourd or fu kua in Cantonese. It's an acquired taste.

I only learned to eat it in my late teens. In the beginning, I only eat it if it's cut into thin slices and cooked together with chicken. Still, most people that I knew do not like it.

Restoren Fu Kua @ Taman Megah, PJ. Comfortable, clean and nice ambient. Only for happy people. If you're unhappy or bitter, your feelings might resonate in it and you might feel worse, hehe.

Banana Leaf Rice @ Kedai Makanan Raju: Below Expectation, The Search For Great Banana Leaf Rice Continues...

I was missing my Penang banana leaf rice so much (Read: My Ultimate Food Discovery In Penang, My Favorite!: Famous Banana Leaf Rice @ Lumut Lane, Georgetown Penang) that I told myself I must settle my work early today and rushed out to eat banana leaf rice at restaurant nearby.

Kedai Makan Raju @ PJ during lunch time. A lot of workers but not very helpful and their service is slow. Hm..maybe they're foreigners and don't understand what I said, hehe

Chocolate Mille Crepe Cake @ Food Foundry, PJ: Best? Special? Over-Rated, Over-Priced, Over-Expectation!!

I went to Food Foundry today after my friend told me about their one of the kind dessert, Mille Crepe cake. 'Mille' means a thousand in French but don't expect a thousand layers of crepe here. It's just a little more than 15-20 thin layers of crepe.

Food Foundry located on the ground floor of Happy Mansion apartment, PJ.

Best Duck Rice In KL And PJ Is In S.E.A Park, PJ? Err...Nope! Good But Not Great.

I managed to find Restoran Sunrise finally!

Restoran Sunrise @ Seapark, PJ. Long queues until outside of the restaurant, indicating good/ great foods inside!

Soong Kee Beef Noodles @ Jalan Silang (Main) and Lot 10 (3rd Generations): My Favorite (And Best) Beef Noodle In KL Since My Mum First Brought Me Here:)

I can still remember vividly when I was young(er), my mum would bring me to KL by train just to jalan-jalan.

Soong Kee Beef Noodle, since 1945 @ Lot 10 Hutong food court. Operated by '3rd Generations' but I think more so by foreign workers, haha. Just joking. Of course the multi-millionaire bosses don't need to work:)

Everytime we went to Central Market (Pasar Seni), we would definitely walked a bit more to Soong Kee Beef Noodle Restaurant nearby. I wasn't sure where it was before they moved to the latest location at Jalan Silang off Jalan Tun Siew Sin. There were just so many people at that time, crowding the small and old restaurant.

Breakfast At Chawan, Bangsar: Food Sucks...But Good Coffee

Yesterday, I had planned what I wanted to eat today. What's my plan?

Chawan @ Bangsar. Corner shop lot, open air. It wasn't so hot because I went there in the morning. However, I can't imagine eating nasi lemak anytime during the scorching hot afternoon in Malaysia. Also, since coffee is their specialty, I'd expect a cozier environment for customers to spend their time enjoying their coffee.

Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie, KL: I Fell In Love With This Place...And Their Food Too!

If you want to bring your 'special' one(s) for a romantic breakfast, lunch, teatime or dinner...THIS is the place to go.

Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie, KL.View from outside.
The ambient and environment here is so 'not' KL. You'll be surprised to find, in the midst of all the high rise buildings and traffic jams in Kuala Lumpur, a nice little bungalow restaurant + cafe + bakery situated IN Kuala Lumpur! If I were to give ratings not taking into account the foods, it'll be 10/10!

Penang's Coconut Drive-Thru @ Anba Coconut Trading Snd. Bhd, Lorong Abu Siti, Georgetown, Penang

FRESH!

FRAGRANT!

COOLING!

What's the best dessert to take when it's hot? Or when you're sick?

Coconut, of course! Don't believe? Ask your mom:)

Dinner @ Shangri-La, Kuala Lumpur: A Night To Remember...About The Food:)

An evening at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur already excites me, not to mention having dinner there too! However, all was not smooth going. I almost miss it because of the traffic jam! Luckily, I left early but only managed to reach there just in time only.
Dinner menu. I love the amount of effort they put into creating each dish.
